Teens

Hackathon (Gr. 5+)

Beginner and experienced coders can compete in our EBPL Hackathon! Please note this program is not suitable for students with no coding knowledge. There are two divisions to compete in: classic and advanced. Both require prerequisite knowledge as listed below. Students can compete individually or in groups of 2 to 3. Advanced registration is required and students must bring their own devices and chargers.

Holiday Card Bonanza

Put your artistic skills to work to paint, draw, and color festive holiday cards to brighten the season for local seniors. Write festive messages of cheer and good wishes to share with members of our local community who may be feeling particularly lonely this holiday season. After the event, your cards will be sent to seniors in and around East Brunswick to provide a little extra holiday cheer.

All supplies will be provided.

Young Writer's Workshop (Gr. 8-12)

Celebrate the kickoff of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) with this young writer's workshop. We'll begin by reading and critiquing 2-3 pieces of published poetry and prose. Then we'll spend one hour responding to timed writing challenges with different themes and prompts. (Not a fan of a particular theme or prompt? Nothing to worry about! Make up your own or ask for an alternative.) At the end of the workshop there will be time for participants to share their work with the group and receive constructive feedback.

TAG Meeting (Gr. 8+)

Join us to find out about volunteering and getting involved at the library.

If you submitted your TAG application and haven't heard back, please still attend the meeting so you can find out how to sign up to volunteer.

We meet the first Thursday of every month in the meeting rooms at 7 pm unless the library is closed, then we meet the second Thursday.

Grades 8-12 and East Brunswick residents only.

Email teens@ebpl.org if you have questions.
